Where has Peter Kirby gone?

You know when your contributions on the net are valued when you become really conspicuous by your absence. Several of Peter Kirby's websites seem to have gone down over the last week or so, including his Gospel of Thomas commentary, formally at http://www.gospelthomas.com/, which now has a "This website is for sale" notice. His Christian Origins blog has a "This account has been suspended notice", likewise his own peterkirby.com site. Early Christian Writings is still available, though.

We cannot afford to lose earlychristianwritings.com!

Kirby is around. He recently started a Bible Scholarship group over at LibraryThing. Some of his sites have gone down in the past but then were resurrected.

Peter hasn't been around since December 10 or 12, when he abandoned most of the projects he volunteered for in early December.

He is missed by many people all over the net. Dozens of emails have gone unanswered. His cell phone voicemail box is full, and he doesn't pick up when called.

It's very worrisome and I hope he comes back soon.

He started the Bible Scholarship group on LibraryThing on 7 December -- I was part of the group and messaged him through LibraryThing 10 December about the group but never received a reply and several other email attempts of mine have bounced also.

Let's hope someone with storage capacity scoops up and archives these sites before they're utterly lost. Has anyone checked the Internet Archive?

Hi AKMA. Yes, I checked and it's all there at the Internet Archive. One interesting thing I noticed there was that there hadn't been any activity on it for months.
